Sewing Opportunity Never Ending (S.O.N.E.) Financial Literacy Series

5/30/22- Extra Credit Financial Solutions continued its partnership with Sewing Opportunities Never Ending (SONE) and delivered an exciting two-part class series on Entrepreneurship.

With the 25+ attendees, ECFS explored entrepreneurship and its facets including what it means (and takes) to be an entrepreneur, how and where to start your own business, understanding the competition and management of money within a business. The information was relayed via instruction, games and Q&A.

Throughout the instruction, several participants shared their impressive entrepreneurial aspirations and goals. We are pretty sure that we will see these attendees in the limelight rather soon.

Mr. Raji Rankins (of SONE) shared his thoughts on the importance of ECFS’ participation and the program’s findings:

“Through analyzing our post-surveys, we were able to determine that 65% of our participants expressed this (ECFS’ workshop) was their first time being exposed to the information shared during the workshop. We also discovered that 85% of the youth shared the information was delivered in a way they could understand. Another important discovery worth highlighting, is over 90% of the participants shared the information will help them with future financial decisions.”

These findings are astounding, enlightening and promising. The impact of the workshop did not fall to the wayside. The participants are engaged in the class, absorbing & digesting the information and sharing it with others.
