As a native Washingtonian, Mr. Allen Cheaves learned at an early age, the importance of advocacy and financial responsibility. Inspired to pay it forward, in 2011, Mr. Cheaves founded & serves as CEO of Extra Credit Financial Solutions LLC (ECFS) dedicated to educating on the fundamentals of personal finance, money management and professional development.
From 2018 - 2024, Allen proudly served as a Commissioner/ Councilmember/ Financial Knowledge Member on The District of Columbia Financial Literacy Council (DCFLC) under the appointment of Mayor Muriel Bowser (right) leading as Co-Chairperson on the Student Affairs and Impact/ Innovation Committees.
ECFS is registered as a Registered Program Partner for the DC Public School System and Program Vendor for the Prince George’s County Public Schools!
Extra Credit Financial Solutions LLC provides extensive training and support to its volunteers to ensure they are knowledgeable and comfortable leading classes. Volunteers are given access to the company's online resources and materials, as well as the opportunity to attend workshops and seminars to further their knowledge. The company also provides feedback and guidance to volunteers to ensure they are providing the best possible experience for students.
